Adam Lambert – America’s Breath of Fresh Air?

13 06 2009

6/13/09

I just finished reading the Rolling Stone article and want to share my thoughts before moving forward.

The American public is desperate for change. Things are falling apart all around us, around the globe, too. We’re hitting rock bottom and ready to embrace that which has always been deemed unmentionable, unacceptable – different. Ignorance, to some extent, has fallen by the wayside due to our desperation. We’ve voted in our first bi-racial President. Adam voted for the first time ever and cast his vote for change when he pulled the Obama lever, as many did that day. I am one of them. Obama seems like a breath of fresh air. He’s open and honest. He airs his dirty laundry before the media has time to smear him. When they do find something to bite into Obama is quick to own his behavior, or set the record straight. He’s a straight shooter. No nonsense. It’s all out there – take it or leave it. America took it. We were ready.

adam bombAdam Lambert is just another guy living in America, along with the rest of us, struggling to make ends meet at whatever work we can find – hopefully it’s work we find fulfilling. He’s a dreamer (like we all are, or were at one time). Adam has also struggled with his identity and how to handle being different than the majority. He’s not only different in his sexual preferences he’s also different at his core.

So many people today are fake. Cosmetic plastic surgery is so common it’s made some *natural* people feel *they* are the minority. Fake boobs, face lifts, lipo, collagen – admitting these *enhancements* is no longer taboo, but trendy. People use credit cards and take out loans to pay for this work. It’s truly unbelievable how unhappy people are with themselves. I don’t think there’s anything wrong with a little this or a little that but the American people are so obsessed with visual perfection and keeping up with the Jones’, the Smith’s, and even just surpassing those with less than they have just to feel better than the next person.

It’s the reason our economy crashed. Greed. Having to have the biggest house, with the Hummer and Range Rover in the driveway (at the middle class, Lambo for the higher class), label clothing on all the kids, pool, over-scheduled kids in way too many extracurricular activities costing a shitload of money, and vacations. Private schools for some. Birthday parties are no longer held at home with candy cups, ice cream, cake, and games. Now parties consist of laser tag, Chuck-E-Cheese, ponies, huge blow-up play toys, gymnastics – anything huge and extravagant. Nothing personal. Sweet-sixteen parties are now mini-weddings! Thousands of dollars are being spent on events consisting of elegant gowns, limo’s, catering halls, and picture packages. Just to turn from fifteen to sixteen. This is one way to teach your child the value of a dollar and how to cherish the simple things life offers. Way to go, Mom and Dad!

The parents themselves can’t afford any of this. Nope. It’s all financed. And in accordance with the laws of finance – our market has crashed. All because we all wanted to be – perfect, and better than, and live lives beyond our means instead of valuing and treasuring the simple things. We even have *starter* homes! And *starter* marriages! What the fuck??! We’re a completely uncommited, disloyal society. We’ve become a simplistic, materialistic, and offensive society. A finger-pointing society. An unemployed society. A poor society. A bailed-out society (for the big boys, anyway. The rest of us can suck our own asses and hope for the best, I guess). We’re bitter, broke, and emotionally exhausted. We don’t know which way to turn anymore. Our dreams are dashed and we don’t feel a reason to develop new one’s.

We’ve become desperate.

Desperate for something different.

Here comes Season 8 of American Idol and here comes Adam Lambert – a breath of fresh air! The boy’s got an amazing voice. He’s articulate, smart, kind, considerate, professional, and a little edgy. He’s exciting. Alternative. Cute. Normal. Flamboyant. Extravagant. Classy. Genuine. He owns his actions. Adam is open and honest, pushes buttons, challenges 5 adam glassesstereotypes, and stands up for all that is different. He’s real, unassuming, and unapologetic. He’s relatable. His confidence supersedes insecurity. He gets on that stage and it just feels so liberating! He’s a mix of flower-child seventies, rebellious metal eighties, independent nineties, and current 2009. He encompasses generations and we all pull together in awe of this dream angel on the t.v. screen. He’s got hopes. He’s got dreams. He’s been down and out living paycheck to paycheck, calling mom and dad to bail him out when he has no money for rent or gas or to keep his cell phone from being shut off again – he’s us. Yet, he’s found a way. An unbending way. We find it unavoidably appealing!

But just how appealing? Just how desperate are we?

Desperate enough to accept and not judge? Nope – that didn’t happen. Adam didn’t win American Idol – many say his being gay played a role. Adam’s *preferences* were on the tips of everyone’s tongue for months. He didn’t mention it directly, not because he was ashamed or scared, but because he didn’t want it to overshadow the reason he was on your mind in the first place – his singing. Unfortunately, the desperate American public just couldn’t focus where they belonged. America has come a long way in it’s views but we’re not completely full circle, either. We still have hang-ups. We ambushed the poor guy about one topic – and one topic only. Was the media starting the frenzy, or was the media feeding off the publics desire to know? I think both fed off each other. However, the media always grabs something and doesn’t let it go. It throws a subject in our faces over and over and over again. Too often people fall prey to media frenzies.

So the guy offers up his life on a silver platter for all to learn about. Does he think it’s anybody’s business? No. But he also doesn’t live his life in a bubble and he shouldn’t have to now, either. My thoughts are he granted the Rolling Stone issue for two reasons: (1) to satisfy everyone’s curiosity and be the one to speak and clarify with his own words through a respected magazine (not a tabloid) and (2) it’s a Rolling Stone cover!!!!! Perhaps now he will be able to live freely, fulfilling his dreams.

What will the American public say about the content divulged in this Rolling Stone piece? Do I correctly foresee a rash backlash from our overly judgmental society? I hope not. Adam poured his heart out on those pages and speaks openly. He’s had impressive experiences in his twenties – a time of great self-discovery for a confused and anxious young man. Adam is an open book and says, for clarity and shock value, that he’s done all sorts of drugs, spent time in sex clubs, likes dicks – and rhinestones, but hates pictures (but not posing for them). He curses. Is flippant and in-your-face. He says he’d rather smoke a bowl than do a line of blow. He’s still on the road to self-discovery. While he won’t label himelf bi-sexual he does say he is bi-curious. Perhaps having so many females fawning all over him has peaked his interest and perhaps he may investigate that at some point. I say he should keep having fun down whatever roads he wants to take.

6 adam ring of firePersonally, I like a good bad-boy. That’s what Adam is. At the core, he’s a good person. He’s maintaining control. I don’t care if he goes to clubs, drinks, has sex with guys or girls (or guys and girls, or threesomes, or foursomes – I don’t really care is the point). I don’t care if he smokes a bowl every day. He seems to know when he’s reached his personal limit and stops. If he didn’t he’d be a raving drug addicted loser in life. Yet, he’s becoming a superstar. Hopefully he maintains control because this industry makes all alcohol, drugs, and other alternative activities readily available. Have strength, Adam. Indulge – certainly where you are happy – but always maintain control.

I love that Adam’s not the goody two-shoes everyone thought he was. I love his appeal. His bravery. His systematic fuck you attitude.  Hopefully, even after this article, others still do, too. Hopefully, the change everyone seems ready for runs deeper than just watching a t.v. show, getting excited for a bit, and then turning a blind eye when something generally unappealing is uncovered. A true testament to who you are as a person is to love unconditionally and not be judgmental. If you liked Adam’s voice before you learned all of this stuff then you should still enjoy and support him now. He hasn’t changed since the day you heard him sing a quip of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” He’s still the same person you went crazy for.

Now that all of this is out I hope when the media starts asking stupid questions again that Adam simply replies, “I’ve already answered that” and refocuses them on the music. It’s going to take his redirection to make that happen because the media will harp on the most exploitative subject possible.

Before I go, I also want to address those who speak out negatively about those who do want to know all about Adam. People keep saying we shouldn’t want to know this and we shouldn’t want to know that – that it’s all about the music. If the only thing important to know about a person we are drawn to is how good they are at what they do then we shouldn’t care about Michael Phelps treading bong water instead of pool water, Michael Jackson maybe molesting 3 enlargedchildren, and O.J. Simpson’s murder charge and civil loss because afterall Phelps is a great swimmer, Jackson an awesome performer, and Simpson was a great ball player and orange juice spokesman. We wouldn’t care about N.Y’s resigned governor Elliot Spitzer’s call girl infidelities, football quarterback Michael Vick’s dog fighting conviction, Bill Clintons political sex scandal, or Sarah Palin’s 17-year-old unmarried daughter Bristol’s pregnancy. But as a society we do. Get my point? It does matter. As a *star* Adam is now more than just a person on the street – like you and me. He’s a commodity. He’s a package. Maybe one day he’ll be a brand. Some people don’t want that – maybe he does, maybe he doesn’t. At this point, I don’t know. I do know that my first introduction to him was his look, his singing, and his personality – for brief moments. As I saw him week after week I got to know him a little better. I was welcoming him into my home two nights a week, and everyday on the Internet when I watched his video’s and interviews. My daughter watched, too. I started a blog because I love his freshness, I love to write, and I like the idea of having a positive focus. I want to know more about him than just hear his songs. This is a package deal I’m buying into. Just like when I met, dated, and married my husband. I want to know all about him so I can make an informed decision about the person I’m accepting into my life. I could just listen to his music and then carry on – like I do with The Eagles, Justin Timberlake, and many movie actors, as well. I don’t embrace them, though. Adam has a special something that makes people want to know him, be around him, enjoy him. I’m not a stalker. I don’t even care if I ever meet him – he has his life, and I have mine (although, I’d love to sit down with him for an interview of my own! Hear that, Adam?? Call me! lol). But he represents an ideal I find attractive and inspiring and for that reason I want to know more about him – as much as he’s willing to share and as he shares it. People want to feel a connection. And we do. This is a testament to how great of a performer Adam really is – He sold us. He made connections with the audiences and we bought it. Lucky for him because that ability is what’s going to make him a superstar. You don’t have to agree with me — but you’re reading my blog for some reason. I assume it’s because you, too, felt that connection – that inspiration from a young man achieving his dreams.

For now, after the Rolling Stone issue, I think he’s shared more than enough. The 20/20 airing gave him the follow-up opportunity to not only say in print but also have his voice heard on air. There should be no more questions. He should offer no more answers. I’m not sure if divulging all of this information so early in his career is a good thing or a bad thing. Time will tell. By doing so people may have become overloaded with unprocessed information and simply crash. It also offers Adam, though, the opportunity to now move forward openly and freely, without speculation, and form a solid, committed fan base.

Are we ready for Adam Lambert?

I know I am! I always have been.

Are you?

WOW! Well I think that just about covers it! Very well thought out, said and written, better than my last rant…LOL. I’ll be right there beside you yelling my blonde head off cheering him on because he is honest, he is real, he is the best thing to come down the musical yellow brick road, he’s beautiful inside and out, he’s charming and provocative, he laughs at himself openly and unabashed, he’s tender and rough and sly and deep… deeper than we give him credit for, but most of all….he’s Adam, 100% real no fillers Adam and I love him for it! And actually, I don’t think this is the end of your story but just the beginning of a long and beautiful one with many more chapters to come. Cheers!

Agree with your excellent blog here. Adam and many of the American Idol contestants are a downright refreshing blast of clean air. They are the antithesis of our politicians who lie and hide behind their words, whose love of power overcomes the power of love.

The 2009 American Idol contestants come from myriad backgrounds but respect each other, inspire each other to excellence, and get along far better than Congress does. These are mostly YOUNG folks yet they behave much better than their elders in the halls of power. They mentor each other and are kind to each other, despite being in a sudden-death type competition. The reject the negativism of other reality TV shows.

Adam is an artist and as such responds to the themes of his times. Most people (in Thoreau’s words) “lead lives of quiet desperation.” Rock stars live out everyone’s fantasies of wealth, sex, coolness, and freedom. Our times and circumstances mold our artists…and we respond with inner recognition to what they create in respond to modern day stresses.

Adam Lambert was born the boy next door. His parents and brother seem as normal as can be. But through an accident of genetics and biochemistry he was blessed with both enormous singing talent, energy, and sensitivity, and the blessings and burdens of being gay.

My hope is for Adam Lambert to be the Lance Armstrong, Paul McCartney, and Tiger Woods of entertainment–vital, respected, self-renewing, yet on the cutting edge. I do hope he can avoid becoming a parody of himself (a la Michael Jackson and Madonna) or a burnt out shell of himself (a la Elvis Presley). Based on his deep feeling for words, I wish for something more profound than, say, a merely marketable performer in the vein of a Britney Spears or Spice Girls.

Your mission, Adam, if you accept it is to rock our world for the better. You can help release gays from distortions and give us the sense of personal power, love, and perspective that we feel so very lacking in the modern world. You thrive on taking enormous creative and stylistic gambles that cast a fantastic spell.

Adam, being somewhat of the wild child that he is, will certainly have to work to keep himself grounded in this industry. I hope he has some solid people around him. I wonder ….. I’m not sure. His parents – very liberal – with dad following the Grateful Dead around – sound like flower children in their own respect. Open minded and raising great kids but I dont know how well that plays in when staying grounded in this industry. Brother Neil, very flippant, and admittingly wanting to ride his brothers coattails (which he says Mom does to) may not offer grounding, either. I dont know any of them personally and they sound like great people but we all have weaknesses. Depending upon what their’s are will determine how much support they offer in keeping Adams head out of the clouds and not going over board with his newfound lifestyle and opportunities. It’ll be interesting how this plays out ….. I hope it plays out good.

Hard to predict how wild this “child” will get, but…. (1) It helps to achieve success later in life after you have done the homework (like for 17 years in Adam’s case) and after you have figured out some of your values and eccentricities. (2) It helps to have decent family, many friends, many past coworkers, a name brand, and a community behind you. (3) It helps to have both amazing talent and for it to be a reliable one. (4) It helps to have a great sense of humor. (5) It helps to be adaptable and flexible, and to see things from many different viewpoints. (6) It helps to have a record of good manners, giving back, and not back stabbing. (7) It helps to reject addictive drugs. (8) It helps to be very very selective about potential life partners. (8) It helps to have some fundamental humility and sensitivity to others. (9) It helps to have good business sense. (10) It helps to have critical artistic judgment in spades–this is the thing I find most amazing about Adam.

On the other hand…. (1) Paparazzi go to bizarre lengths nowadays. (2) The rest of California is still catching up with Hollywood in the acceptance of gay culture. (3) The rest of the country lingers far behind California. (4) These are bizarre times with people under external and internal stress. (5) Adam’s costumes and performances can be a bit self-indulgent and dive into the deep end.

First of all I would like to thank you for “the great article” (yes, it is an article) and be sure you are a “very good writer”.
I liked – “adam lambert americas breath of fresh air” – so much, that I could not let it go without few comments:

1) “A true testament to who you are as a person is to love unconditionally and not be judgmental. If you liked Adam’s voice before you learned all of this stuff then you should still enjoy and support him now. He hasn’t changed since the day you heard him sing a quip of “Bohemian Rhapsody.” He’s still the same person you went crazy for”.

Yes, I love him unconditionally. I love his voice, his interviews, his personality, his beauty, his confidence, his hungry of life. I love the way he looks (lovely eyes), he laughs, he smiles, he dances, he performs, etc…
I agree when you say he’s still the same: ADAM is the same sweet and adorable guy we saw at the very 1st time in the audience: Confident on Kara’s question: Are you the next idol? – I think so…I can sing! kissing Paula’s hand, playing with Randy and serious to Simon: I will surprise you!
I really love each part of him no matter what and I still loving him always and supporting and defending him forever

2) “Adam has a special something that makes people want to know him, be around him, enjoy him”.

Yes, he is like honeycomb! He is like a great book that you can’t stop to read – you know you have to finish but you won’t because it’s so good!!!

3) “People want to feel a connection. And we do. This is a testament to how great of a performer Adam really is – He sold us. He made connections with the audiences and we bought it. Lucky for him because that ability is what’s going to make him a superstar”.

Ability to be connected with the audience, in my opinion, this is the key to succeed. At this point I would like to draw a parallel between ADAM and ELVIS: ADAM has the same ability to be connected with his audiences that ELVIS had, the same charism, the same appeal, the same intimacy with his fans and those things make someone great and beloved.

4) “For now, after the Rolling Stone issue, I think he’s shared more than enough. There should be no more questions. He should offer no more answers. I’m not sure if divulging all of this information so early in his career is a good thing or a bad thing. Time will tell. By doing so people may have become overloaded with unprocessed information and simply crash. It also offers Adam, though, the opportunity to now move forward openly and freely, without speculation, and form a solid, committed fan base”.

I really agree with you. It is time to move on. From now on it must be all about his well succeed career. No more private life, sex and drugs information, no more details of anything that concerning only to ADAM. ADAM explained and revealed more than necessary to pleased and satisfy all curious people and all the curiosity about him. From now one we – his fans – must talk only about how great he is and how huge his international success will be in a very short time.

Thank you for your great reply! I especially like what you said about not wanting to finish a good book because its so good … I find myself doing that all the time. I read really slowly (not because I have to – but because I’m savoring it) and almost feel forced to finish because I kinda have to finish – but then it’ll be over :o ( Lmao So true! With Adam, at least, it just goes on and on and on …. always more news and new surprises :o )

It’s so sweet you read our replies (and even write some words about them). I’m an internacional ADAM’s fan from Rio de Janeiro/Brasil and I felt myself very comfortable here in your space. Thanks a lot to welcome us so generously.

I read every reply – I personally approve each one (this is what keeps the nonsense off the blog!) I respond as often as I can :o ) So happy Adam has international fans — matter of fact…I think I have something to post about that so look for it lol

I’m really interested in read your post about International Fans. Actually, we (international fans) are spreaded out all over the Globe. You can see it looking for ADAM LAMBERT at “GOOGLE MAP”. There are a lot of us there, in every continent, every country, every city, even some of us put ourselves on the sea because there were no more spaces for so much “ADAM’S IF”.

I hope Adam gets to read your blog…he would be proud. You said everything that I’ve felt since the day I saw his audition. Adam is so unique and so mesmerizing. I’ve watched all 8 seasons and have never picked up the phone for anyone but Adam. He had brought joy to my life for the past I don’t know how many months the show was airing. I went to two cities and seven stores before I found the RS issue, eventhough I’ve already read the whole article online. Even got my floor seats to the tour today just to see Adam perform. The only downside to that is that I will have to suffer through the other 10 contestants (I’m all about Adam and the two sidekicks Kris and Alli :-) . Your site is so awesome. I check multiple times everyday for updates. How do you find the time to do all of this?

14 06 2009
adamlambertsite

THANK YOU so much for the compliment! I, too, hope Adam gets to read my blog at some point! Hoping maybe someone he knows will see it and pass the word. That’d be real cool.

I only watched and voted on seasons 1 and 2. After that I just watched auditions. No one impressed me. Season 8 auditions though — wow — only for Adam, though. I watched the whole season and voted only for Adam (no split voting here). I saw a great voice, a star quality, sincerity, and someone who’s been working hard for years trying to achieve a dream whereas most of us let our dreams go. He deserved to be on the show to the end. He deserved to win. He didn’t – for whatever reasons – but his career isn’t going to suffer. We see him more than the winner.

Funny about your desperate search the the R.S. issue! My aunt and I did the same thing for days! When we finally found it we both picked up a few copies. Think I’m gonna frame one …. its a constant inspiration.I had been pondering trying to get into writing but procrastinating for many reasons. Adam pushed me to start this blog which I can use to write and journal and report. I’m trying to spark myself into writing articles and submitting them for sale … start a career. Adam is my inspiration. Jump hurdles no matter what and just keep trying!

I was so hoping Adam would win the show because then he would be the star of the tour. Like you, now I have to sit thru all the *others* when I really have zero interest in doing so. Not even Kris or Allison (I cant stand Allison). It’ll be worth it just to hear his angelic voice fill the coliseum, though! CAN’T WAIT!!!!!

I really don’t have that much time for this blog — lol. You’ll notice my slow times. When there’s lots of news I fall behind on other stuff so I can get the news up here. Then I play catch up and usually keep the computer open all the time so when I’m passing down the hall with laundry in hand I can stop and refresh the page and see whats up. Its a constant movement – really LMAO! I just never stop! Its the first thing I do when I come home from work in between letting the dogs out, scooping the litter boxes, and throwing laundry in. Yikes! I have another blog, too … Randy Jackson Presents America’s Best Dance Crew (an MTV hip hop dance competition show) winners Quest Crew. My daughter and I love them and we’re trying to get the blog going. Its going slow … lol .. cuz I dont have time to fill it. I told her to. She hasnt yet. Hhmmmm…..

Today will be slow – its family day – probably no updates until tomorrow…. :o (

Hooray for the inspiration to write and start a career. You are good at it so keep pursuing that path. I wish I was more savvy at the computer and the internet…I would totally recommend your site and tell everyone…but I don’t know how…don’t laugh :-( . I have not checked out Randy’s other gig, but my other favorite show is So You Think You Can Dance…such awesome talents.

Sammy

exactly RIGHT! There is something about Adam and it is more than his voice, although his voice would certainly be enough to make me buy his music but I wouldn’t call myself a fan. I buy lots of music but I don’t follow artists and I don’t considering myself a fan of the person but rather a fan of the music. With Adam it’s different, I’m a fan of the person. I like how open he is, how seemingly unafraid to take a chance as big as this. You have to risk big to win big and I think Adam is going to win BIG.

14 06 2009
adamlambertsite

You worded that great – that when we just listen to someone’s music we are a fan of the music but when we are drawn more we become a fan of the person. He has that *star* quality. Good post!

I will also be at the same concert as you …. I dont know how you snagged front row, though! I went into work late just so I could be online for the presale and STILL got tickets in the 300’s of the nassau coliseum! Looked again and got tickets in the 200’s – I settled there….and I’m talkin I hit the sale as soon as the clock struck. Lucky you – with those front row seats! Thank you. thank you. thank you for saying everything I wanted to say and couldn’t express my feelings like you have. I truly LOVE this young man (I’m 72) and couldn’t be prouder of him if he was one of my grandsons. He has an inner quality that shines through every time he speaks. He has been in my prayers ever since all the haters started bashing him. BTW I NEVER watch 20/20. I only tuned in because he was on just to see his SMILE. Thanx again for this site. I come here every day to read more about this REMARKABLE TALENT. And I think his MOM is BEAUTIFUL!!!

great post! I think you’ve captured a lot of what has captured many of us. Just to add a few things .. I love how Adam always mentioned the band and the other musicians after his performances. I love how he has been supportive of the other contestants. I love so many things he says about the role of arts in kids lives. He’s got so much to offer PLUS he sings like nobody else!

WOW! YOU HAVE SAID IT ALL IN THIS ARTICLE!!! What a complete, perfect set of thoughts, facts & opinion. I have been thinking & feeling all of these things about Adam & the world in general. Especially the greed thing – I said that last year when both versions of the iphone came out & also a lot of personal greed out there – i knew a bubble had to burst. You got inside my head it seems! I’m a huge Adam fan for life. I just love everything he is & does & he is the antidote for ugliness. He IS the change. It’s coming & it’s gonna be great!!! Thanks so much to you & Adam!!!

Amazingly well-written, I feel like you were a voyeur into my own thoughts regarding Adam. I anxiously await the continuing rise of his superstardom, because I do honestly believe that’s where he is headed. May he maintain control of himself and his destiny, and keep having fun. All I ask is that he go out there and create some more incredible music for the rest of us to love.

As a huge 40 something fan of Adam’s I thnk you for such an eloquent and well written piece on a very lovely and talented young man who has a huge ride to Superstardom ahead of him. I know I speak for many many fans who don’t care what his sexual orientation is they just love the man he is and the talent he shares with us. I think his choice to divulge all he did was a very smart move because now as you say the media can’t dig up any so called dirt about him because he’s covered pretty well all the bases of shock value in what he’s experimanted with etc. He is in control and that’s how it should be. I can’t imagine how he handles the new public life he has been thrust into. Paparazzi want to get pictures of him, the media want to interview him his life will never be the same. I think he can handle it he has a very strong family base to lean on if he needs it and he is very close with his Mom so she will help him stay grounded I’m sure. I look forward to his cd release in the Fall It’s going to be huge! Adam has also changed the face of American Idol forever that in itself is a big accomplishment.

Thank you for this blog and such a wonderful article about Adam which I am sure all fans can relate to. I would love you to get your interview with Adam cos you seem like us all – totally loving him for his excellence and totally accepting him for the beautifully perfectly flawed human being that he is.

I could not agree more. I felt the same way! Thank you for the article! It is one of the best and Adam deserves it! I ador Adam more and more every day. He is so unique. I am ready to move forward with his music. I can’t wait to see him in the AI Tour. I can’t wait to buy his new album. I will buy at least two copies, one for my PC and one for my car (I downloaded three copies of each of his song from iTunes).

I love your thoughts. You said it all, not much more to add. I love Adam Lambert for his gifted voice and for who he is and what he stands for. A superstar was born on American Idol this year and his name is Adam Lambert.

Ok, Adam has said what everyone wanted him to say, “I’m gay”. I hope we can all move on now. I just pray Adam gets to do the album he wants and not some rushed piece of rubbish just so the record company can cash in on his popularity. Adam is a great talent and I like, “1dognut” which to see him perform live. But unlike “1dognut” I don’t I have the constitution to sit through 8 other AI contestants.(Allison Iraheta and Adam yes….the rest, NO THANKS).

Keep up the great work with the blog. We the Glamberts cannot get enough of the modern day rock god!!!

I’m ready for Adam!! Can’t get enough!! Love his positive attitude, his passion for music, and his hotness. Sorry, can’t help that one. Last, but not least, his voice is beyond belief and I’ll be listening, watching, and loving it for as long as he’s doing it. Love Ya Adam – YOU ROCK!!

WoW, you have said it MUCH more fluently than I could ever have expressed yet we have similar thoughts.
For some time I have been seeking to live my life authentically and while in many ways I have succeeded, I have mostly hidden behind fear.
Adam Lambert is showing that compassion, originality, talent and above all honesty mixed with risk taking can succeed and that we should act with integrity and fly to our dreams.
I am ready for MUCH more Adam Lambert and also, hopefully, the great impact he will make on our culture. May we embrace each other and support despite our differences, it is the only way we can move forward. I am truly grateful for this AMAZING messenger!

Hi: I just want you to know I have been leaving this website address on other sites; ew.com, zabasearch.com, people.com for other Adam fans that are looking for other fans to blog with without having to put up with the hateful comments. I hope they come to this site like I did. I have never been happier since I have. God Bless & keep up the GOOD WORK!!!

Oh, thank you so much!!! That’s so sweet of you! I’m glad you’re enjoying it here :o )

Just out of curiosity, because I don’t post in any forums – are there really that many blogs and forums out there that don’t monitor incoming comments??? Wow!

O.M.G. You have no idea how many there are! Cruise around sometime when you have a few hours, they are climbing out of the woodwork like cockaroaches and as stated before me, not all are positive or supportive. That is one of the reasons why I love being here the most is because of the love, support and positive intention. I check out a few other sites but, as you already know.. this is the best for all the right reasons and I truly feel that at some point in time Adam will discover this site as positive energy works like a magnet, we will all be drawn together by the common thread of Adam.

Wow – I hope you’re right! That would be so awesome if he knew about this site!

Well we could always post a note on the “OFFICIAL ADAM LAMBERT” site! :0) He supposedly reads that as does Kris and the others that all have the “OFFICIAL…” sites set up for them by Sony (19 and RCA) it’s the one that I called “kinda cheesey”! Still is, mainly set for the teeney-bopper set..LOL. In any event, I practice positive intention and it works. Adam has mentioned in the past that he believes in it as well. You know how that goes… build it and they will come! It’s working for him right now!

Very true!

I have been linked to by posters on adamofficial. Matter of fact, my Breath of Fresh Air article received about 900 views from adamofficial alone. In the beginning I thought – perhaps – the official site moderators might happen upon my blog (I do have an account there, too, but dont post) by seeing it linked to and – pehaps – that might turn into something HOWEVER …. LMAO …. I agree it is kinda cheezy and not moderated AT ALL. (I saw a post there that said that when I was checking out what people said about me … lol).

Positive thought, though ….. like you said! Afterall, they DID update the homepage recently! Ya just never know …. :o )

Wonderful article, and I agree with everything you said! I too hope that Adam will now tell the media that he’s already talked about his personal life enough, and move the focus back to his music and his upcoming CD. I can’t wait to see him in concert! He is, without a doubt, a very special human being. So few people with that extraordinary combination of talent, poise, and charisma!
