A friend of mine at work suggested I might be upset if Simon assigned him a ballad instead of a rocking song, but no - like you said there's more emotional connection to power ballads. Perhaps Adam is scared of them right now because the last one he sang - If I Cant Have You - landed him in the bottom three? (Although its my understanding that was only because fans rallied to keep Allison and Kris in, which took voting time away from Adam). Personally, I want to hear him sing "White Rabbit" by Jefferson Airplane...such a powerful song. Or some Queen or GnR. Both have power ballads he can choose from. I also agree with you about the backup band and backup singers. Last night they both overpowered his voice and that shouldn't happen. Being tired last night I forgot to include that in my post so I may edit that info in.......I was disappointed the backup singer was louder than he was - that was nonsense!
